Mr. Hercher is a Founding Principal of RobertDouglas and brings 30 years of investment banking and capital markets expertise to the firm. Doug has held senior leadership positions at Jones Lang LaSalle, where he was the North American CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels and a member of the firm’s International Capital Markets Group, Lehman Brothers Global Real Estate, Sonnenblick Goldman and Cushman & Wakefield.

Mr. Hercher has, in addition to leading the sale of iconic properties such as the Plaza Hotel in NYC and the Regent Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills, specialized in raising structured debt and equity capital for real estate projects and companies. During his career, Mr. Hercher has advised clients on in excess of $40 billion of real estate capital market transactions including the acquisition/sale, financing or recapitalization of more than 150 separate hotel, resort and lodging portfolio transactions, totaling $30 billion and located throughout North America, Europe and the Caribbean. He also has extensive experience with gaming, retail, residential, and office properties.
Mr. Hercher has been a member of numerous industry groups including the Lincoln Center Real Estate Council, National Real Estate Roundtable, PERE, and AFIRE, as well as being registered with FINRA as a Series 24 Securities Principal. He is a regular speaker at industry events including speaking at the Federal Reserve Bank and has contributed to articles in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Bloomberg, Hotel Business, REFI, and Real Estate Forum.
A graduate of Colgate University and Columbia University School of Business, Doug currently resides in Brooklyn and is an avid skier, diver, sailor, runner, and traveler.
