During his career, Mr. O’Connor has advised clients on an excess of $5 billion of transactions, located throughout North America, representing a variety of structures that include dispositions, debt financings, and equity recapitalizations for both single asset and portfolio transactions.
Mr. O’Connor is a recurring guest lecturer at Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration and at the USC Master of Real Estate Development Program on the topic of hospitality real estate finance and market analysis. He is a regular speaker at hospitality industry events including the American Lodging Investment Summit, the Meet the Money Conference, and the Hotel Asset Managers Association annual meeting. He has contributed articles to the Real Estate Finance Journal and co-authored the “Art of the Capital Structure” chapter within the Hotel Asset Management Principles & Practices, Third Edition book.
He currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two boys in middle school. He enjoys playing tennis and downhill skiing; fine dining and travel; backgammon, newspapers and reading The Economist.
